In short — To choose a giant LED screen, start from the goal and location, measure audience distance, derive size and pixel pitch, then check structure, content management and after-sales service. The right screen is the one whose configuration matches real use, not the biggest or the finest.
1. Define the goal
Street advertising, visitor information, showroom enhancement, stage décor, internal communication: each goal shapes format, location and content type. An advertising screen must catch a passer-by in seconds; a conference screen must show readable documents.
2. Qualify the location
Indoor, shop window, facade, rooftop, courtyard: exposure to sun and weather decides between indoor and outdoor (see our comparison). Also note support constraints: load-bearing wall, cladding, allowable weight, access for installation and maintenance.
3. Measure viewing distance
Record the shortest and longest distance between screen and audience. The minimum distance guides pixel pitch; the maximum guides content size and therefore screen size.
4. Derive the size
Size must let viewers read the smallest content element (text, logo) from the maximum distance. Too small forces simplified messages; too large overwhelms the space and costs more. Format (landscape, portrait, banner) follows the available location.
5. Choose the pixel pitch
Pitch (P2 to P10) is chosen from the minimum distance. A common rule of thumb links the minimum comfortable viewing distance in metres to the pitch in millimetres. A finer pitch than needed brings no visible benefit and raises the budget.
6. Plan content and control
Who creates the videos? Who updates them, and how often? Do you need time-based scheduling or remote control of several screens? These answers shape the playback system. A screen without suitable content loses most of its value.
7. Check structure, warranty and support
Outdoors, the structure must be sized for weight and wind. For every screen, check warranty, spare parts availability and the supplier’s ability to work in your city. Electroline works in every city in Morocco and provides after-sales service with spare parts.
